Who we are

At SciVisum, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of the visitors to our website. In particular, we want you to know that SciVisum is not in the business of selling, renting or trading email lists with other companies for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy we’ve provided detailed information on when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

Types of data we collect via our website

Mailing Data

As part of the registration process for our monthly e-newsletter, downloads of our resources such as eBooks and white papers and contact via our request a demo and contact forms, we collect personal information including:

  • first name
  • last name
  • email address.

We use that information for a couple of reasons: to tell you about information you’ve asked us to tell you about; to contact you if we need to obtain additional information; to contact you with other relevant information on similar topics and our products and services; to check our records are right and to check every now and then that you’re happy and satisfied. We treat this information as confidential and won’t share or sell it with third parties. We don’t rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.

We use a third-party provider, MailChimp, to deliver our newsletter and a third-party provider Canddi to identify which web pages are visited once our emails are opened. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our e-newsletter. Website Cookies

Some pages on this site use “cookies,” which are small files that the site places on your hard drive for identification purposes. These files may be used for site registration and customisation the next time you visit us, and to make navigating the website more user-friendly.

Google Analytics

When someone visits www.scivisum.co.uk we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site so that we can improve our website. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Domain Information

We also collect domain information (e.g. IP address and referring URL’s) as part of our analysis of the use of this site. This data enables us to become more familiar with how people visit our site, how often they visit and what parts of the site they visit most often. This information is collected automatically and requires no action on your part.

We do not share or sell personal information with any third parties.

Children’s Privacy

Our Service does not address anyone under the age of 18 (“Children”).

If we become aware that we have collected Personal Data from children without verification of parental consent, we take steps to remove that information from our servers.

We use Hotjar in order to better understand our users’ needs and to optimize this service and experience. Hotjar is a technology service that helps us better understand our users experience (e.g. how much time they spend on which pages, which links they choose to click, what users do and don’t like, etc.) and this enables us to build and maintain our service with user feedback. Hotjar uses cookies and other technologies to collect data on our users’ behavior and their devices (in particular device’s IP address (captured and stored only in anonymized form), device screen size, device type (unique device identifiers), browser information, geographic location (country only), preferred language used to display our website). Hotjar stores this information in a pseudonymized user profile. Neither Hotjar nor we will ever use this information to identify individual users or to match it with further data on an individual user.
